IST's Model IQ-1000 and TLV
Panther are the most powerful and
versatile portable gas detectors on the
market today.
By using IST's Mega-Gas Sensor
in one of the IQ-1000's four available
sensor ports, this remarkable unit can
detect OVER 100 toxic and combustible
gases using a single sensor.
On the other hand, the TLV
Panther employs the same advanced
IQ-1000 electronics technology, but gives
you the speed and versatility of a Photo-Ionization
Detector (PID) for the detection of
volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
such as benzene, toluene, etc. Both units
are microprocessor controlled, and three
alarm setpoints are provided for each
gas, as well as audible and visual indications
if any of these alarm limits are exceeded.
Besides the Mega-Gas Sensor for the IQ-1000
and the PID for the TLV Panther, both
units also accept electrochemical,
catalytic bead, infrared (IR),
and solid-state sensors, allowing
the units to provide greater selectivity
for key gases. The IQ-1000 or TLV Panther
accepts and simultaneously displays the
readings of up to 4 sensors, giving it
the flexibility to meet a wide range of
applications. The IQ-1000's "Gas Search" feature
allows you to use the Mega-Gas Sensor
to scan an area for hazardous gases. Because
the Mega-Gas Sensor can detect over 100
gases, if a gas search inidcates a zero
reading, chances are that no hazardous
gases are present.
The IQ-1000 and TLV Panther have impressive
capabilities, yet still remains convenient
and easy to use. Calibration is simple
and automated, with no manual adjustments
necessary. The TLV Panther even has a
completely automated calibration
mode that allows the microprocessor
to calibrate all of the active gases for
the PID with the push of a button. Thus,
the user can calibrate 10, 20, or even
30+ gases in less than a minute! Besides
easy calibration, operation is a snap.
Simply select the gases you want to monitor
and the microprocessor based unit will
do the rest. A large, 8 line, 40 character
display allows the simultaneous display
of 4 gases along with alarm and calibration
information. Power is provided via 6 'D'
size alkaline or nickel cadmium batteries.
The IQ-1000 and TLV Panther include a
built-in sample pump and sample wand,
as well as a handy carrying case. Datalogging
can be provided as an option, allowing
the storage of months of data. An RS-232
port allows you to send data to a computer
or printer. Included with datalogging
is the IQ-1000's powerful EINSTEIN data management
software (PC). This software
allows you to download, manipulate, and
plot data in a variety of ways.

IQ-250 is a single-gas, portable instrument
which can be equipped with solid state
sensor. Any one of over 150 toxic and
combustible gases can be chosen for
detection. The sensor is attached via
a coiled cord which allows readings
to be taken up to 24" from the unit.
Buzzer and LED alarms alert the user
to the presence of hazardous levels,
and a digital display indicates the
gas concentration. User adjustable setpoints
are provided for low, mid, and high
alarm levels. The IQ-250 is compact,
weighing just 22 ounces including batteries.
The unit will operate approximately
14 hours on 4 AA-size alkaline batteries.
IQ-350 is a single-gas, portable instrument
which provides all of the features of
the IQ-250, and in addition, it comes
equipped with an internal sampling pump
and wand assembly.
The unit can be equipped with either
a solid state sensor, electrochemical
sensor, photo-ionization detector (PID),
or infra-red (IR) detector, and can
be configured to detect any one of over
150 toxic and combustible gases.
The IQ-350 operates approximately 20
hours on 4 C-size alkaline batteries.

IST's
Model IQ-200 is a personal safety monitor
which can be configured to meet a variety
of applications. For confined space
entry, a single solid-state sensor
is used to detect hydrogen sulfide,
carbon monoxide, and combustible gases,
and an additional electrochemical sensor
is used to detect oxygen. Solid-state
sensors for over 150 other gases
are also available, making it ideal
for use as a personal
exposure monitor or a specialty gas monitor. Both
the solid-state sensor and the electrochemical
oxygen sensor used in the IQ-200 are
long-life sensors.
Typical life expectancy is 5 years for
the oxygen sensor and over 10 years
for the solid-state sensor. This results
in a tremendous savings in long
term operating costs. Compared with
other units, the IQ-200 can save you
hundreds, even thousands, of dollars
in long-term costs associated with sensor
replacement.
The IQ-200 is easy to use as
well. Just slide the power switch on
and you're ready to go. All alarms are
factory preset. Alarm LEDs indicate
low, mid, and high alarm levels for
the solid state sensor, and low and
high alarms for the oxygen sensor. The
IQ-200 also has an audible alarm buzzer
to alert you to hazardous gas conditions.
Also, verifying proper operation of
the unit is easy and is accomplished
by simply exposing the unit to 50% LEL
methane.
The IQ-200 is small and lightweight,
weighing just 22 ounces,
including batteries. It comes standard
with a carrying case which includes
a belt strap and shoulder harness. The
unit operates on 4 size 'AA' alkaline
batteries, and operates approximately
14 hours on one set of batteries.
- Single solid-state sensor detects hydrogen
sulfide, carbon monoxide,
and combustibles -- many other
gases also available. Separate electrochemical
sensor detects oxygen.
- Ideal for confined space entry, personal
exposure, and specialty gas monitoring.
- The IQ-200 is designed for simplicity
-- Just switch it "ON" and you're
ready to go!
- Long sensor life (typically 10+ years for
solid state sensor and 5 years for
oxygen sensor) means low operating
costs.
- Operates 14 hours on 4 'AA' size alkaline
batteries.
