Water Sampling Instruments / Peristaltic Pumps

Geopump Peristaltic Pump
Solinst Model 410 Peristaltic Pump

Geopump Peristaltic Pump
The GeoTech Peristaltic Pumps operated by mechanical peristalsis, so the sample only comes in contact with the tubing. This allows for sample integrity as well as easy cleaning and replacement. With the optional stainless steel tubing weight, tubing can be lowered to a specific depth without curling or floating on the surface of water. GeoPumps operate from any external 12VCD or 120VAC power source.

SERIES II Geopump Peristaltic Pumps are available in AC only, DC only, or an AC/DC combination. They have two pumping stations which can also be piggy-backed for multi-station pumping. The first pumping station has a variable speed of 30 to 300 RPM and the second station 60 to 600 RPM. SERIES I Geopump Peristaltic Pumps are available in AC only, DC only, or an AC/DC combination. These units have one pumping station which can be piggy-backed for multi-station pumping. They have variable speeds ranging from 60 RPM to 350 RPM.

Solinst Model 410 Peristaltic Pump
The Solinst Peristaltic Pump is lightweight and compact with easy access controls. The metal case is extremely robust, water resistant, and has no grates or openings. Ideal for fast sampling to depths of 25’ or less. Convenient purge and sample settings allow for purge rates to 3 l/min and sampling rates to 60 ml/min.

The mechanical peristaltic operation is effective to depths of 28 ft(8.5m) at sea level, being limited only by the suction lift limit.

The Solinst Peristaltic Pump has a variable pumping rate and can deliver from 60 ml/min. in sample mode and as much as 3 litres/min. in the purge mode.

Compact and Light Weight
The Solinst Peristaltic Pump is very compact and easy to use. It Measures 13” x 4.5” x 9” (32cm x 11cm x 22cm) and weighs only 9.5 lbs (4.3 Kg).

The Metal case is extremely robust, water resistant, and has no grates or openings.

A handle and easy-access controls on the top of the pump, make it perfect for fieldwork.

Tubing
The standard pump tubing is medical grade silicon which attaches easily to 3/8” x 1/2” (10mm x 12mm) down well tubing.

To give high sample integrity, the sample comes in contact with the tubing. The tubing is easy to clean or replace. To avoid cross contamination between wells and lengthy decontamination procedures simply change the inexpensive tubing between wells.

High Quality VOC Samples
When sampling for volatile organics using the Peristaltic Pump it is advisable to collect samples in-line, ahead of the pump, to avoid the stripping of volatiles from the sample. The Solinst VOA Bottle Filler, Model 470 is ideal for this. It holds 3 standard 40 ml bottles.

It is also useful to place a Flow-Through Cell in-line, to allow the water to be monitored for the conductivity, pH, temperature or other appropriate parameters. When the readings stabilize the operator can be sure that the sample bottles now contain fresh formation water.

Power
The pumps operate using any external 12 volt DC supply at 3-5 amps maximum. The variable speed motor is reversible and is equipped with a 5 amp internal fuse and blocking-type reverse polarity protection.

A power cord, 12 ft (3.66 m) long, is included with each Peristaltic Pump. The power cord is fitted with alligator clips for easy connection to almost any 12 volt DC battery, such as a car battery or a small 12 v x 6.5 AH gel cell.
