Photovac 2020 PRO
NEW 2020PRO Photoionization Monitor

Rapid VOC detection in air, water and soil
The Photovac 2020PRO Photoionization Detector is very stable and linear. The 2020PRO is equipped standard with a 10.6 eV UV lamp, and has an optional 11.7 eV UV lamp for ionizing chlorinated compounds. The Photovac photoionization detector is also humidity-compensated so you can rely on the results under any conditions.

Effortless Data Handling
Expanded internal datalogging allows the operator to record thousands of sampling points that can be downloaded to a computer using the new 2020PRO Chart software.

Dedicated Calibration Key
Immediate access to the calibration procedure with more user prompts to easily walk you through calibration completely for higher confidence in calibration.

Easy to Use
Three modes of operation to suit your needs:

1. Non-logging – Continuous readings for survey and site checking.
2. Tagging – Data logged by tag name or number - ideal for EPA Method 21.
3. Interval Logging – Logs at pre-set intervals as well as displaying the TWA, STEL, PEAK and current reading at all times.

Intrinsically Safe
Classified as Intrinsically Safe in North America (Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D) and Europe (EEx ib m IIC T4 and ATEX) for use in potentially explosive environments.

Photovac 2020 PID
The Photovac 2020 PID is ideal for the fast detection of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Weighing under 2 lbs., the Photovac 2020 is light, yet rugged. Samples are drawn in through the internal pump and results are displayed within seconds on the large, easy-to-read backlit LCD display.

Take advantage of proven technology
The 2020 operates all day long using photoionization, the technology of choice for detecting VOCs in air, soil and groundwater. The 2020 is equipped standard with a 10.6 eV UV lamp, with an optional 11.7 eV UV lamp for ionizing chlorinated compounds.

Rely on it hour after hour
Operating automatically, the 2020 will run for a full workday. When preset levels are exceeded both audible and visual alarms are activated. The complete record of the day's activity is presented in a tabular format indicating concentration vs. time. Stored data is easily downloaded to a PC using Windows® HyperterminalTM

The Photovac 2020 PID is classified as Intrinsically Safe in North America (Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D) and Europe (EEx ib m IIC T4) for use in potentially explosive environments.

An excellent tool for monitoring toxic gases and vapors in workplace environments, the Photovac 2020 is the PID of choice.

UltraRAE Specific Compound Monitor
UltraRAE is a quick, spot-check monitor, typically used by occupational health, safety and environmental personnel. The combination filter tube and PID remove the disadvantages associated with colorimetric tubes and gas chromatographs. Simply insert a RAE-Sep™ tube and get either a total vapor reading or a specific compund reading, such as benzene in petroleum vapor or methylene chloride in organic solvent vapors. Applications include tank entry pre-screening during petrochemical plant maintenance, hazardous material response, marine spill response, and refinery down-stream monitoring.

APPLICATIONS
Military
Pipelines
Crude oil production
Transportation - tankers, railways, aircraft, barges
Refineries & refinery contractors
Petroleum user - gasoline, diesel, jet fuel
Steel - light hydrocarbon by-product from coking
Petrochemical plants
Benzene solvent users
Environmental companies
HazardousMaterial (Hazmat) Response Teams

KEY FEATURES
3-16 times faster analysis time
accuracy
excellent range and linearity
internal pump
small, hand held monitor
low cost of analysis
lower cost of ownership
minimal interference
Principle of Operation
A photo-ionization detector (PID) is used for broad band screening down to very low ppm levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), for example, petroleum or solvent vapors. The UltraRAE not only uses traditional lamps but also a lower energy lamp (9.8 eV) for benzene monitoring (benzene ionization potential IP = 9.25 eV). A 9.8 eV lamp discriminates against other hydrocarbons with higher ionization potentials commonly found in petroleum vapors yet easily detects sub ppm levels of benzene. To screen for very low levels of potentially toxic VOCs, an empty glass tube is used. To read specific compounds, for example benzene, a patented RAE-Sep™ tube is added. This tube, containing absorbent materials, filters most of the other VOCs, such as toluene, that will interfere with the benzene reading. A RAE-Sep™ tube is simply broken at each end and inserted into the top of the monitor. By pressing the "Y" key, a strong, internal pump draws the air sample through the tube and the final result is shown on the display (after 30 to 75 seconds depending on the compound). A fresh tube is used for each measurement. These tubes also absorb humidity to allow for a very accurate reading on the UltraRAE. A bar code reader identifies the type of tube inserted. The data-logging feature then records the date and time of monitoring, the tube type, and the concentration. To obtain the accuracy at such low levels and the confidence in your results, we recommend calibration, prior to use. A simple, clean-air zero and span gas calibration takes less than 3 minutes.
